Ghana Black Stars’ captain Andre Dede Ayew has reached an agreement to sign for Qatari side Al Sadd.
The player will arrive in Doha on Thursday morning to complete the routine procedures, followed by the signing of the contract and the official announcement.
At Al Sadd, Ayew will be working with Barcelona great Xavi as the head coach and play alongside the likes of Santi Carzola,Gabi and other European greats.
Ayew, son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele Ayew had spent the last decade in Europe, first at Marseille in France before crossing over to England where he played variously for Swansea, West Ham and a loan spell at Turkey’s Fenerbahce.
The 31-year old forward captained Ghana’s U-20 squad to win Africa’s first title at that level. He’s attended two senior World Cup as well as six AFCON tournaments where he’s won two runner-up medal and a bronze as well as the highest goalscorer at the 2015 edition.
