Football Leaks founder Rui Pinto has told football’s world governing body how they were complicit with a scandal-cloaked deal that kept Manchester City and PSG out of even hotter water in 2014.
Pinto accused Infantino, who was then serving as UEFA general secretary, in the wake of the Citizens’ recent guilty verdict for massive breaches of Premier League finance.
City and PSG in 2014 and placed caps on their wage bills following breaches of Financial Fair Play.
Pinto claimed that Infantino had “leaked confidential documents”, and said he “did everything possible” to make sure City and PSG would only face a financial penalty and not the more serious punishment of a Champions League ban.

He also referred to Infantino as “a cancer on football” and stated he felt the FIFA president should not be involved in the sport.
The allegations have not been proven to be true by the acting German prosecutor. Reports based on the Football Leaks documents have previously linked Infantino to negotiating the deal with City and PSG and Infantino has denied any wrongdoing.
Pinto’s comments were made as the Premier League announced an independent Commission ruled City had committed serious breaches of financial regulations between 2009-10 and 2017-18. The Premier League said the Commission found the club used “sham” contracts and other agreements to grossly inflate revenues and tighten costs.
City have strongly denied any wrongdoing and are lodging an appeal.
What happens next will be decided by the club’s appeal and any punishment.
