The FIFA president has been criticized for sending a laudatory letter to Argentina following their losing to the Spain in the World Cup Final, in what is described to be a chaotic ending.
The letter, which was confirmed to the Daily Mail by Argentine Football Association president, said that he was happy with Argentina’s involvement in the championship following their elimination.
Argentina had been poor throughout the entire championship losing, at one stage 12-0, they didn’t manage to have one shot during regulation time and were denied a penalty and saw Enzo Fernandez sent off after two quick fire yellow cards, even getting into an after the game brawl with the Spanish and is part of still pending investigations by FIFA.
All this did not stop FIFA president Gianni Infantino writing to Argentina for their “magnificent work” and saying that the championship was great work by, him, his manager, staff and all their fans, all resulting from “constant work, professionalism and attention to detail” and wished them future success in an effort to further stir up claims that the World Cup had favored Argentina throughout.
Argentina had already been criticized for having an offensive slogan displayed by their fans at semi-final as they defeated England and there were several other disciplinaries for their players which had grabbed the attention of many.
