Popular Nigerian gospel ministers Nathaniel Bassey and Victoria Orenze have expressed grief over the death of American conservative activist and media personality, Charlie Kirk, who was gunned down on September 10, 2025.
The 31-year-old was shot at around 12:20 p.m. while addressing students at Utah Valley University in a courtyard event that had been secured with the presence of six campus officers.
Taking to social media, Nathaniel Bassey prayed for the repose of his soul, writing: “Pained. Rest in the Lord, Charlie Kirk.”
Victoria Orenze, on her part, shared a lengthy tribute on Instagram, calling Kirk a committed servant of Christ.
She wrote: “TRUTH CANNOT BE KILLED! TRUTH CANNOT BE SILENCED! TRUTH CANNOT BE STOPPED!
Charlie Kirk, a true soldier of CHRIST, is with THE TRUTH (JESUS CHRIST)!!! What glory!
Satan, for every time you try and an army rise instead! WE ARE NOT AFRAID!!!!!
His wife, children and family are wrapped by the comfort of the HOLY GHOST in JESUS’ name!
We are clearly in the last days, Believers!!! We must boldly stand for JESUS CHRIST (THE TRUTH)!!!!!!! We can’t play church anymore!!!! These times were foretold! John 16:2.”
Kirk was widely recognized as a close ally of current U.S. President Donald Trump and was instrumental in mobilizing young Republican supporters through his organisation, Turning Point USA.
In a statement, Trump ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Kirk and accused the “radical left” of being responsible for the tragedy.
His killing has triggered outrage and mourning across the world, with tributes pouring in from both political and religious circles.
Meanwhile, authorities are still tracking the assailant, with CCTV footage of the suspect already obtained.
The FBI and ATF have joined the probe, while Utah Governor Spencer Cox has hinted that capital punishment could be applied if the culprit is brought to justice.
