Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, visited the site of a tragic accident caused by a tanker explosion that claimed five lives. The incident occurred at the Eleme section of the East-West Road in Rivers State on Friday night.
Accompanied by the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, and the Director of the State Security Service, the governor promised to compensate victims affected by the incident.
Governor Fubara expressed sadness over the situation, emphasizing the need for caution while plying the road to avoid such accidents. He assured support for the bereaved families and vowed to assess the situation fully to provide assistance.
The accident, believed to be caused by bad roads and exacerbated by gridlock, underscores the urgent need for road reconstruction across Nigeria, so as to ensure the safety of Nigerians while plying the road.
