It has been reported that Marc Guéhi is very upset after his move to Liverpool on Deadline Day was prevented, and he has made the decision not to sign a new contract with Crystal Palace, thus allowing a free transfer next summer.

The England international was to finalize his transfer to Anfield following the acceptance of a £35 million ($46.9m) offer by Palace, with the information suggesting that he was part-way through his medical. A pact until 2030 was in place, and a plane was ready to take him to Merseyside. But the nonavailability of a replacement at Palace and the determination of manager Oliver Glasner to have his captain led to stopping the move with Glasner even threatening to resign if the deal went ahead.

Though Guéhi, 25, has publicly kept his cool and has been at his best physically during Palace’s tough Premier League campaign, he has netted in the 3–0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday,

According to The Guardian and The Times, he now thinks “angry” and “extremely unhappy” with the club. It is reported that he is thinking about giving up on the captaincy after which he will not sign any new contract offers.

It is anticipated that Liverpool will come back for Guéhi next year, but the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus may also run with the race when he is allowed to sign a pre-agreement in January.
