Several yet-to-be-identified gunmen have abducted and slain Eze Joe Ochulor, the traditional ruler of Otulu community in Ezinihitte, in Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to reports, the traditional ruler was abducted on Saturday morning, November 25 and killed in the evening but his body was not discovered until Sunday morning, November 26.
A community source who asked for anonymity had told newsmen that the body of the kidnapped traditional ruler was found on Sunday morning with his limbs cut off.
He said:
“His mangled body, with one leg severed from his body, was found along the Chokoneze-Mbutu Road where it had been disposed of, while his family and community waited for his kidnappers to get in touch with them and hopefully ask for a ransom.”
The gunmen who barged into his palace and carried him away allegedly shot intermittently, scaring away those who could have quickly raised an alarm.
The source had further said:
“There is tension in the land and our people are now living in fear. The traditional ruler was kidnapped from his residence on Saturday morning, November 25, which has left the villagers terrified.”
Henry Okoye, the Imo State Police Command’s spokes-representative had not answered calls nor responded to the message sent to him at the time if making this report.
