Prof. Gertrude Njar, the new commissioner for women’s affairs in the state of Cross River, has been abducted by gunmen.
According to a witness who spoke to The Guardian, she was taken away yesterday around 9.30 a.m. through the creeks near Mbukpa in Calabar South Council.
Additionally, it was learned that her car was located at the scene by security personnel.
Eric Anderson, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, confirmed the occurrence and stated that her automobile was discovered on Mayne Avenue.
But he said that security personnel was on top of the situation.
They only learned of the kidnapping of our colleague, professor Gertrude Njar, the commissioner for women’s issues, this morning. A call has been made to the police. Her car has been found after she was abducted this morning near Mayne Avenue. They are reportedly closing in on them, according to Anderson.
