Unidentified gunmen had attacked and shot dead, two members of the government-owned Ebubeagu Security Outfit in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
The incident occurred at the popular Ebebe Junction, on Friday night, November 18, and had led to several residents of the area sustaining varying degrees of wounds, as they had scampered for safety on hearing the sound of gunshots.
SP Chris Anyanwu, the Police Public Relations Officer has confirmed the development.
Recall that in September 2022, in Mkpuma Ekwa-Oku Community in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, suspected gunmen also killed an Ebubeagu security operative, Sunday Izhikpa, at his duty post in the community.
Afterwhich the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, Anyanwu Chris, had also confirmed the killing.
