A certain man named Sikiru Ajibola has been arrested by the Ogun state Police command in the Ogijo area of Sagamu L.G.A Ogun state for allegedly having forceful and carnal knowledge of a five years old boy, which eventually resulted in his death.
This information was revealed by the States Police Spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement on Saturday. According to her, the information was given to them by the CDA chairman, Olorunwa Arogbeja who reported the incident to the police that he received the report from a member of the community who revealed that the suspect had raped the boy to death. The suspect was immediately arrested on Friday.
According to Abimbola, the suspect admitted to committing such a dastardly act, seeing that the boy is dead, he immediately dug a grave in a nearby bush where he buried the body. He also took the policemen to where he buried the body.
Lanre Bankole, the commissioner of police has ordered that the case be transferred to the Homicide department for further investigation.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed to engaging in homosexuality and that while he was having sex with the deceased boy, he died.
“He confessed further that he quickly dug a shallow grave in a nearby bush, where he hurriedly buried the boy.
“He has also taken policemen to where the deceased was buried,” Oyeyemi said.
Parents or guardians must watch their wards and try to protect them from sexual perverts, the law should also ensure that justice is served for the boy’s death
