The House of Representatives has declared that it will be resuming its sitting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, to carry on with the first legislative year of the 10th Assembly, after its annual break.
The spoke representative of the House, Akin Rotimi, had in a statement released on Friday, September 22, said that the announcement had been made known to the lawmakers by Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, the clerk of the House.
Recall that the 10th Assembly had begun their short recess on Thursday, July 27, 2023, after a plenary session during which the Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, announced the leadership of the standing committees of the House.
The 10th Assembly has been very creative within its 100 days of inauguration, recording the first reading of 470 bills, with four bills passing the second reading. Also, the House had considered 175 motions.

“Some of the key early developments expected on resumption includes concluding the work of all ad hoc committees and the submission of their reports for the consideration of the House, in line with the orders of the Rt. Honourable Speaker.”
