Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has opened up about her upcoming studio album, describing it as a reflection of her evolution into womanhood both personally and musically.
Speaking during an appearance on Apple Music Radio Takeover, the 23-year-old singer revealed that she explored new sounds while embracing a more relaxed and enjoyable approach to making music.

“I’m literally becoming a woman, and it’s like you can hear that in my music now, like I’m growing sonically and I want to try different things, like just put myself out there, and have fun while doing it.
“I kind of lost the plot a bit, and I took it a bit too seriously, and it was never that deep,” the artist said.
According to her, the forthcoming third album represents a return to enjoying the creative process, as she focuses on rediscovering happiness and authenticity in her work.
“I brought the fun back, and we’re enjoying ourselves,” she said.
While the singer is yet to officially announce the album’s title, she has already released a lead single, Where Do We Go, ahead of its anticipated release later this year.
