According to the chief of staff for Prime Minister Viktor Orban, new legislation will be presented to the Hungarian parliament the following week in order to bring an end to a standoff with the European Commission and unlock access to EU funds. This news was announced on Saturday.
According to Gergely Gulyas, the government will urge parliament to ratify the legislation through a streamlined process, and the new laws are expected to go into force in November.
