The veteran Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, popularly known for his role as the bad boy in movies has debunked rumors spreading on social media and gossip blogs that he has converted to Islam. The actor made a post on his Instagram account to debunk claims that he has been converted. Speaking out on Thursday, 2nd June 2022, the actor claimed that the rumor came about from an unknown blogger who circulated his pictures from a just-finished movie he shot in Ghana.

The actor had this to say, in an Instagram video he put up, to deny the news.

In his own words:

“Hello everyone, I felt it is just necessary to address a certain rumor that has been making the rounds lately. Usually, I don’t pay attention to these aimless rumors because it is not my cup of tea but certain lines must not be crossed. I made a movie in Ghana about a month ago called Sango Boys, it comes out July 29th. It is a movie about a religious fanatic, somebody took the pictures from that movie and it ended up in the hands of a rather unscrupulous blogger who said that I have converted my faith”.

“Now while I want to unequivocally say that I respect all religions and I believe in one God, I have no intention, not now, not ever to convert my faith. I am committed to my faith. I don’t understand why anyone would want to peddle these rumors but they are certain lines that one should not cross. So whomsoever that is peddling these rumors should get it together, we are too busy for the B.S. These are really serious issues, please get it together” He pleaded.

“It never happened, it will never happen and I do not intend for it to happen” He further reiterated.
