Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has criticised the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards following her exclusion from the 2026 nomination list.
The nominations for the 12th edition of the awards were recently announced, with her co-star Bimbo Akintola earning a nod for Best Lead Actress for their project To Kill A Monkey.
Reacting to the development, Afegbai expressed disappointment over the snub, insisting that her role as Idia in the series stood out and gained significant attention.
She, however, maintained that she does not rely on award recognition for validation, while taking a swipe at the organisers.
“AMVCA smh. I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason.
“I don’t need a nomination for validation. The truth is clear: Nobody trended like Idia from TKAM last year. Her acting was 100. You guys can eat your award.”
Her reaction has sparked conversations online, with fans debating the nominations and the recognition of performances in the film industry.
