IG Mourns Late AIG Dimeta

Usman Baba, Inspector General of Police, Mourns the demise of Assistant Inspector General of Police, Lawan Jimeta, who was in charge of Zone 5, Benin, Edo state. Jimeta passed on in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Edo state, after a brief illness on Sunday morning

This information was disclosed by the Public Relations officer of the Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday in a statement. Where Jimeta was described as. Peace-loving officer.

According to the statement, Jimeta had a great zeal for peace operations, hence he was concerned about effective training and mentorship as regards such.

He was also described as a philosopher and a great poet who has a Collection of poems titled ‘the songs of a peace keeper’ to show his love for peace.

The Inspector General of Police further sympathized with his family, friends, and every other person related to Jimeta in one way or the other.

He said, “The late AIG enlisted into the NPF on March 3, 1990, and was a dedicated officer with a great passion for training and mentorship in the field of security intelligence and peace support operations.
