A news report has emerged from Ilorin, Kwara State detailing how two young boys were stabbed to death in the region. The boys named Lukman and Kudus were reportedly stabbed when they were taking a stroll at the Adifa and Centre Igboro area of the Ilorin metropolis on Friday. The attack was said to have taken place at night; around 11.30 pm, and was orchestrated by a Habeeb Ganiyu, who along with a group of other boys brutalized the victims.
In a statement made on Saturday by the Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the police confirmed the incident and added that the stabbed boys were rushed to the nearby University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital by their members at the Oja-Oba police station after they were called to the scene. Unfortunately, they were declared dead on arrival by the doctors on duty.
In a twist, the gang leader Habeeb was injured in the attack and has picked up by the police. Okansanmi revealed that investigations had been launched to track down and arrest the remaining members of the group and vowed that all those connected with the attack would face the full wrath of the law, adding that the safety and security of the people of Kwara state were still the priority of the police force in the state.
