Just In- The Imo State House of Assembly has removed its speaker, Mr. Kennedy Ibe, and replaced him with Mr. Emeka Nduka. Emeka Nduka had been elected today, September, 19.
Nduka, who is representing the Ehime Mbano State Constituency, was immediately sworn in by Chinelo Emeghara, the Imo state House of Assembly Clerk.
Nduka’s predecessor, Ibe, who represents the Obowo State constituency was elected as speaker in November 2021, after Paul Emezim, Ibe’s predecessor was impeached as the speaker.
Ibe had been on suspension when he was elected as the number one man of the legislature.
The Imo State House of Assembly now has had four speakers in three years after Nduka’s election.
