The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission -INEC, Yakubu Mahmood has announced that an estimated 2.7 million double registrations were expunged out of the last Continuous Voters Registration -CVR, exercise conducted by the commission.
Announcing on Tuesday, October 11, at a National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington DC in the United States, Yakubu additionally stated that the new Permanent Voter Cards will be made available by November.
It was also revealed that about 50% of the new PVCs were ready, but were yet to be distributed to their various collection centers.
