The suspended Hudu Yunusa-Ari of the Adamawa Resident Electoral Commission (REC) has been requested as a sought person by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Festus Okoye, the INEC National Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, appealed Friday’s episode of Sunrise Daily on Channels Television.
Okoye claimed that Yunusa-Ari’s whereabouts are unknown to the Commission.
When collating the results of the supplementary poll, Yunusa-Ari improperly announced Senator Aisha Dahiru, nicknamed Binnani, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for governor, as the victor of the Adamawa guber election on Sunday.
Binani’s declaration was revoked by the Commission, but President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday suspended Yunusa-Ari pending the outcome of the Inspector General of Police’s inquiry into the contentious statement made by Yunusa-Ari.
