The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has encouraged Igbos staying outside the South-East to return home and be counted in their hometowns during the 2023 census.
According to the group, it was essential for the Igbos to be counted to determine their actual population size, as well as to establish concrete proof that they as a people are not a blip in the map of Nigeria.
Emma Powerful, IPOB’s Director of Media and Publicity, made the call via a statement he released to the press on Wednesday, April 5.
