Well-known Niger Delta leader, Asari Dokubo, has blamed the Nigerian military for being behind 99% of the oil pilferage in the country.
Dokubo had pointed accusing fingers after his private meeting with President Bola Tinubu in his office on Friday, June 16. According to him, there were influential cabals working against the country from Abuja, but he would make sure that the group would face justice.
President Tinubu has meanwhile, promised to look into and take action into Dokubo’s assertion.
The former militant leader had regardless, announced to the Nigerian public that he was more than ready to volunteer his men to help President Tinubu.
Dokubo’s allegations were based on the fact that the Nigerian military could not claim to have insufficient o say that they have insufficient weaponry to deal with insecurity, as they were amply armed.
Dokuno then went as far as to allude that the Military forfeit their weapons to the insurgents, keeping up the cycle of the oil bunkering and insurgency.
The military, as at the time of filing this report is yet to respond to Dokubo’s allegations.
