Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant implied on Tuesday that Israel had executed retaliatory actions in response to attacks originating from Iraq, Yemen, and Iran.
As the conflict with Hamas-led Palestinian militants in Gaza extends beyond its borders.
Gallant while addressing lawmakers stated, “We are in a multi-front war and are coming under attack from seven theatres: Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria (West Bank), Iraq, Yemen, and Iran. We have already responded and taken action in six of these theatres.”
Since the outbreak of hostilities with Gaza on October 7, the Israeli military has acknowledged responding to attacks from Lebanon and Syria. They also conducted raids on Palestinian militants in the West Bank. However, Israel has not publicly disclosed its actions in Yemen, where Iran-aligned Houthis launched long-range missile and drone attacks at Israel, and in Iraq, where a pro-Iran militia claimed responsibility for firing a drone at the southern Israeli port city of Eilat.
Moreover, Israel has not officially reported any operations within Iran, a key adversary and sponsor of both Hamas and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
