The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced the release of results for applicants who took the supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, or UTME.
Remember that the examination took place between Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, 2024.
The board announced the release in a statement issued Friday morning by its spokesman, Fabian Benjamin.
The additional test was held for 28,835 applicants who were unable to be biometrically authenticated during the main 2024 UTME and hence unable to take the exam.
Similarly, the other category of candidates included individuals who were suspected of engaging in test malpractice during the main UTME but were given a second chance to take the exam.
What they’re saying
“The exercise, which was a big success nationwide, was highlighted by increased security measures put in place by the Board to prevent any instances of examination infringement.
“As a result, some malicious people who sought to impersonate legitimate candidates were detained and turned over to law authorities for further investigation and prosecution, according to the statement.
“The board would continue to verify that no candidate profits from any acts of infringement by deploying cutting-edge technology before, during, and after its tests.
“Candidates are therefore exhorted in their own interest to avoid indulging in any type of impropriety during their tests.
“They are also prohibited from soliciting score upgrades from fraudsters or mutilating their result sheets in order to manufacture false results sheets with better scores.
“To check their supplementary UTME results, candidates are to send UTMERESULT to either 55019 or 66019 through the same phone number they had used to generate their profile codes at the start of registration.”
Key point
JAMB has provided a straightforward method for candidates to check their results, emphasizing the importance of using the same phone number used during registration. This helps streamline the process and minimize confusion.
