Mourners have gathered at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow to pay their last respects to comedian Janey Godley, who died aged 63 after a battle with cancer.
Those paying their respects included former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who called her “a force of nature.” There were bright colors as requested on her behalf to reflect the vitality of her personality.
Godley’s daughter, Ashley Storrie, provided a touching tribute to memories and asked the congregation to stand and applaud for her mother one last time. The audience rose to its feet, cheering for this incredible life.
Lightening the momentous occasion with some much-needed humor, one of Godley’s many catchphrases, “Frank, Get the Door,” was played as her coffin was carried out.
Before the funeral, her coffin toured Edinburgh and Glasgow so that fans could pay their respects.
