January Transfer Window: Brennan Johnson Signs for Crystal Palace as Premier League Clubs Circle

The January transfer window has started dramatically, as even before heating up, some Premier League clubs have already made resurfacing steps, and what used to be a rumour quickly turns into a confirmed deal.

Crystal Palace have made the signing of the buzz at the early window, announcing the arrival of attacker Brennan Johnson from Tottenham Hotspur. The Eagles are understood to have broken their transfer record in the amount of £35 million to get the Welsh international, who last season had a great European campaign and scored the winning goal at the Europa League final. This is a huge step for Palace as they continue to surprise the top teams around by strengthening the attacking department.

Harvey Elliott, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, might be leaving the club as he has hardly been given any chance to play under Unai Emery and will likely return to Anfield. Nevertheless, since Elliott has already played for both Liverpool and Villa this season, he is not allowed to play for another Premier League club, which means that MLS club Charlotte FC could be a temporary option.

According to sources, the Red Devils are also in the market and interested in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta to support their attack.

On the other hand, Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has allegedly turned down a move to West Ham as he wants to wait for a possible transfer to Fulham.

Relegation-threatened West Ham are, reportedly, going to be a busy team this window, according to Fabrizio Romano, who states that an agreement has been reached to buy Lazio striker Taty Castellanos for €29 million.

January is going to be a very eventful month with a number of deals done already and probably more in line.
