Liverpool supporters group Spirit of Shankly want immediate discussions with the club over reports that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is involved with a consortium bidding to make a large minority stake investment in the Reds.
Reports suggest the group are looking to take up a 30% share of the Premier League club. Spirit of Shankly have sent a letter to the club requesting an explanation of the proposed deal – including what sort of impact this would have on boardroom matters and how the club structure would be adjusted with added external stakeholders having involvement.
This comes after the suggestion that at other football clubs, these minority investment deals would involve major shifts in leadership.

Boston-based Fenway Sports Group (FSG) bought Liverpool in 2010, with it appearing that they would always be open to some external investment into the club, and a recent statement revealed there was interest from Amit Bhatia led consortium of an strategic minority stake.
Billionaire Bezos, 56, whose reported fortune is approximately £155bn, is said to be joined in the consortium group by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin – an investor no stranger to venture and the tech sector but is one with seemingly no prior interest in the football world.
Valued at £3.3bn, it looks like Liverpool fans may finally have some clarification regarding this proposed minority investment deal with FSG soon.
