Popular American singer and actress, Jennifer Hudson, has become the latest Superstar to reach the EGOT status. The EGOT club is for stars that have won the Emmy awards, Grammy awards, Oscar awards, and Tony Awards.
Jennifer Hudson joined the EGOT club after she won the Tony Awards as the Co-producer of the musical ‘A Strange Loop’ on Sunday. 40-year-old Hudson has with this achievement become the seventeenth person to get this status, the third-youngest person, and also the second black woman to reach this feat.
Jennifer Hudson had won her first Oscar for Dreamgirls in 2006. She had also won the Grammys for Best R&B Album in 2009 and Best Musical Theater Album in 2017. She got her Daytime Emmy award in 2021 for the Outstanding Interactive Media award as an executive producer of an interactive fairy tale animation called Baba Yaga.
Jennifer Hudson started her career and fame with the American Idol competition in 2004 when she became a finalist. She made her debut in films with the movie dream girls which she won her first award for Academy Award for best supporting actress.
