The Jigawa State government has lessened the official working hours in the state by two hours for the 2023 Ramadan fast period.
This announcement was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Hussaini Kila, and then issued to newsmen by his PRO, Ismail Dutse.
This means that civil servants in the state would report to the office at 9 am and leave work by 3 pm between Mondays and Thursdays instead of the normal 9 am to 5 pm working hours. Then on Fridays, the working hours would be by 9 am and end by 1 pm.
Meanwhile, the state government had explained that the gesture was geared towards providing more opportunities for civil servants in the state to prepare for their Ramadan break and to additionally have more time to observe the spiritual activities of the Holy Month.
