After impressing the entire world in the 2022 world cup for the Netherlands, Liverpool wasted no time in acquiring Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. Liverpool announced the signing of Cody on the evening of boxing day.
Jurgen Klopp in the press conference ahead of Friday’s match against Leicester City has revealed his plans for Cody, however, fans will have to wait until January before they can see Cody in action for Liverpool.
He said: “The position he probably prefers to play is left wing in a 4-3-3 but Cody can play different positions – he can play all four positions up front – wing and striker. He is still very young, he was in a really good run of form for Holland and PSV.”
Cody is a very impressive player, as at 23 years old he was already the captain of PSV and was crowned the player of the year in Holland last season. There’s no doubt that Cody will prove his worth to Liverpool.
