A considerable number of fighters of the Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd, aka Boko Haram, and the Islamic State of West African Province, –ISWAP, have been allegedly killed in a fresh conflict in Borno State.
This information was revealed on Saturday, November 17 by a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama via a post he made to his social media platform X.
According to him, the casualties on both sides could be more than the estimated figure as the infighting persisted.
Zagazola had alleged that a heavy fight broke out between the two groups at Tumbum Ali Island in Marte LGA at about 2:00pm, and that the commanders of the warring groups had been killed.
He also revealed that the attack was in retaliation of the colossal killing of ISWAP fighters by the Buduma factions that had captured majority of their hideouts.
Additionally, Zagazola Makama, had disclosed thar about 6 boats belonging to the Bakura Buduma faction and four JAS elements boats, all filled with fighters were all completely destroyed.
