The Church of Christ Evangelical and Life Intercessory Ministry, Sabon Tasha, located in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State disbursed food items to more than 1,000 underprivileged Muslims on Wednesday, March 22.
Among the beneficiaries were almajiri beggars in conjunction with the Association of Persons With Disability.
The food items shared by the church at the Kano Road Central Mosque, Kaduna included bags of maize, rice, and millet. Additionally, prayer mats and plastic kettles had also been distributed.
The ministry’s General Overseer, Pastor Yohanna Buru, had told journalists that the gesture was targeted at easing the effect of the naira redesign, fuel scarcity, and hike in the price of foodstuffs on the less fortunate in the Nigerian society, as well as to strengthen the peaceable coexistence and religious tolerance among residents of various religious groups in the state.
