Following the alert, Kano State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, swiftly dispatched law enforcement teams and detectives to the scene. The victim was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where he was later declared dead by medical personnel.

Haruna confirmed that the suspect, identified as Aliyu Umar, was apprehended at the scene, and the weapon used in the attack was seized. The suspect is currently cooperating with the authorities in the ongoing investigation.

“Upon completion of the investigation, the suspect will face formal charges in court,” Haruna stated.

The police spokesperson reiterated the command’s dedication to maintaining law and order while ensuring justice is served. He also urged residents to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

“The Command appreciates the support of the community for their quick action in reporting the incident and assisting in the suspect’s arrest, which helps to maintain security and peace in the state,” Haruna added.
