Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced three days of national mourning over the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
The President had made his verdict in a statement on Friday. The president had also noted that the mourning period will begin on Friday evening, September 9, 2022, and finish at sunset, on Monday, September 12, 2022.
President Kenyatta also directed Additionally, all Kenyan-led state agencies, under the president’s directive will make sure that all Kenyan flags within their locality are flown at half-mast during the three days, both home and abroad.
Kenya is one of 36 Commonwealth countries for whom the Her Majesty the Queen has served as a significant figurehead.
