A SpaceX rocket has placed Kenya’s first earth monitoring satellite into orbit.
About an hour after liftoff from California, Elon Musk’s business announced the Taifa-1 satellite’s separation.
It was created by a Kenyan research team with assistance from a Bulgarian aerospace firm.
Data will be gathered to predict crop yields in Kenya and enhance food security.
Several satellites, including Kenya’s, were launched from the SpaceX Falcon-9 as part of the company’s rideshare program.
