The abducted students of Nigerian Law School situated in Agbani, Enugu State Campus, have just regained their freedom.
The kidnapped students: Chukwuemeka and Festus Pedro, were both abducted inside the Eke market in Agbani, Nkanu West Local Government of the state last Wednesday, August 17.
The kidnappers had demanded the sum of 50 million Naira ransom to release the victims but the duo have been released by their abductors in the afternoon of Wednesday 25 August. It is still unclear if any ransom was paid to secure the students’ release.
An unidentified student at the Law school had informed journalists the victims returned to the campus on Thursday evening.
The student had said, “The kidnapped boys have returned. We don’t know if the ransom was paid or if they escaped. We just know they ran into school tattered. Recently, we’re now required to move around with our Identity cards. We now have armed men permanently on school.”
The state police command has remained mum since the students’ abduction. Neither the state Commissioner of Police nor the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, had picked up their calls nor responded to texts.
