The National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) has named Farooq Oreagba, a standout at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, as an Honorary Ambassador. Oreagba, donned in a striking green and yellow Asooke Agbada, made a grand entrance on horseback, capturing attention and earning the title “King of Steeze” as his photo went viral.
Oreagba’s flamboyant appearance at the festival, where he rode majestically, garnered widespread acclaim. Obi Asika, the NCAC Director General, shared the news on Instagram, showcasing Oreagba’s Certificate of Recognition. He praised Oreagba’s vibrant spirit and the global spotlight he brought to the Ojude Oba festival, a key traditional celebration of Ijebu Ode honoring the Awujale.
Oreagba, a cancer survivor diagnosed with osteosarcoma and carcinoma in 2014, has been an inspiring figure. After overcoming his illness, he returned to his career and currently serves as the Managing Director and CEO of NG Clearing. His presence at the 2024 Ojude Oba festival, adorned with coral beads, a gold chain, and bold tattoos, highlighted his elegance and style, making him the face of the festival and a symbol of the resilient Nigerian spirit.
