The Kogi State Government has responded to a claim by an online news report that Governor Usman Ododo, who recently secured a Supreme Court victory against the Social Democratic Party candidate, Muritala Ajaka, was considering switching parties. According to a statement issued by the Kogi State’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, Ododo remains a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has no plans to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The statement dismissed the report as “reckless and unprofessional,” calling it a product of mischief-makers upset by their loss in court.

Fanwo clarified that a circulating photo, taken at the wedding of the Taraba State Governor’s daughter, has been misrepresented. He emphasized that Ododo remains loyal to the APC, the party that supported him through his election and legal battles.

The government assured Kogi residents that Ododo will continue to support APC activities at both state and national levels, and urged them to disregard the false report.
