The Chairman of the Kwara State National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Alhaji Aminu Shehu, has demanded that the state government improve the welfare packages of members.
Aminu appealed on Saturday, 11 March 2023 in Ilorin while addressing the shortage of medical practitioners in the state in a forum.
Aminu had also urged the state government to employ more health workers that would measure up with the increasing number of patients in the public health facilities.
“Last year, we had mounted pressure on the state government to increase our salaries and the governor increased it up to 60 percent to 70 percent, but it didn’t meet our expectations because we had asked for 100 percent.”
