Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq has declared Friday, 29 July 2022, a work-free day for civil servants in the state. This announcement was made to enable Kwara State indigenes and residents to register to vote in the next general election that will be held in 2023.
The holiday comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission- INEC will be ending the continuous voter registration exercise on July 31, next week Monday.
This is announcement was contained in a press statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye, on Thursday morning.
According to the statement, “His Excellency urges the people of Kwara State, especially the civil servants, to take full advantage of the holiday to perform their civic duty of registering to cast their vote on the election day.”
