The aggrieved PDP governors, otherwise known as G-5 Governors include: Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State had according to reports, met with the APC presidential flagbearer on Wednesday, December 28 at the London residence of the APC presidential candidate.
An anonymous source close to a sitting governor had confirmed the meeting noting that they were still fine-tuning the modalities of the alliance for the benefit of all parties.
But Akin Osuntokun, the newly appointed Director-General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, had on Thursday, December 29, revealed that he would be elated if the five disgruntled governors on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, platform eventually support his candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Recall that Wike had just recently, ruled out backing Atiku, the PDP flagbearer while also adding that he would make his presidential candidate known to the public next month.
The G-5 governors have been deliberating between choosing APC’s Tinubu and the Labour Party’s (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi as their candidate.
