The Lagos State Police Command has begun investigating the alleged harassment of popular On-Air Personality Omotunde Adebowale-David, popularly known as Lolo1, by police officers assigned to a government official’s convoy.
On February 26, 2025, Lolo1 went live on Instagram to share what she described as an unjust and troubling experience with law enforcement officers in the state.
She claimed that police escorts seized her car keys after a government official’s convoy forced her off the road.
She stated that the officers alleged she had damaged the official’s vehicle, but she refuted the claim.
She claimed that the officers were the ones who scratched her car and forcefully took her keys.
In response to an inquiry by PUNCH Metro on Sunday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, had contacted the OAP and invited her for a detailed account of the incident.
He said, “The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has reached out to Lolo to come over so that he can get a full understanding of what happened. The CP has equally promised to punish any officer found culpable in the incident.”
The video showed Lolo alongside a male colleague desperately trying to retrieve her car keys from the police escorts.
Speaking with News Central, Lolo1 shared her experience, revealing that she was instructed to get into a police vehicle, an encounter she found deeply unsettling.
“It was a very harrowing experience, and I’m still shaking from the encounter. I was the one who made the video and went live on Instagram so that I could get everything in real-time. I knew that as long as they were on my feed, everyone would see the identities of the officers harassing me,” she added.
