The Lagos State government confirmed that the awaited toxicology report on the late singer, Mohbad, was received from the United States. The confirmation was done by the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro SAN, on Monday 21st October 2024, during a press conference at the Ministry of Justice in Ikeja.
Pedro said the delay of the case involving Mohbad was because the investigation must be thorough, involving a forensic analysis and toxicology report. Pedro affirmed that all these are necessary to build a solid case sufficient for conviction when presented to the court.
“On Mohbad’s case, I agree there has been a delay, but this is because the investigation has taken time”, Pedro said. “We needed to ensure forensic analysis and toxicology were part of the investigation to establish concrete evidence for a trial”.
He added that the toxicology report had been handed over to the Lagos State Pathologist and the Coroner magistrate for the realization of a trial and the public should be rest assured that it will soon begin.
Attention now shifts to the legal proceedings that may give closure to the late singer’s grieving fans and family, as the investigation nears its conclusion.
