The operators of a fraudulent Corporate Affairs Commission registration center have been detained by the Lagos State Police Command.

The operators were detained by members of the Rapid Response Squad, according to a statement released by the command on Thursday, after a tip, meticulous background investigation, and verification.

The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, issued a statement titled ‘Police bust fake CAC registration center in Lagos’ in which the police said the center was situated in Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.

Five suspects who were working at the center, according to the police, were detained for forgery and posing as CAC representatives.

Gloria Ukaegbu, who is 28 years old, Omolere Kayode, 30, Taiwo Ajayi, 34, Nwachukwu Brenda, 27, and Oluwatomisin Adebisi, 25, were among those detained, according to the statement.

The operatives were directed by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, and they seized several fake CAC documents as well as a Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Matrix that had been utilized as makeshift offices for their criminal dealings.

Early research indicated that the syndicate defrauded hundreds of people via fictitious CAC registrations.

Meanwhile, the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti has received a transfer request from the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, FDC, for further investigation and potential prosecution.
