The Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Simon Lalong, and the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council have provided insight into the reasons behind the change in the start of the All Progressive Congress (APC) campaigns.
Lalong clarified in a succinct statement that the decision was made to accommodate more party stalwarts.
Lalong promised that a new date and schedule of events would be released shortly, but he did not identify the new date the Campaign Council would be inaugurated.
They had previously scheduled a peace march and prayers for Wednesday, September 28, 2022, to formally launch our campaigns for the 2023 Presidential Elections, he said.
Additionally, they had stated that the Campaign Council members should show up at the Campaign Headquarters on that day to pick up their letters of appointment.
To ensure that everyone is on board before activities formally begin, they have chosen to change the timing of these activities due to the list’s expansion to include more stakeholders and interests within the APC family. As a result, the events that were previously scheduled for September 28 will no longer take place.
The party realizes the sacrifices and understanding of our thronging members who are more than willing to volunteer themselves for this huge duty ahead because we are Nigeria’s dominant and most alluring party.
