Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal not only scored a hat-trick on the pitch but in the club history books off it, with his new No. 10 shirt becoming the best-selling item in a single day, thus breaking Lionel Messi sales records for the club.

After the core of his 18-year-old player, who was the driving force behind Barcelona’s treble victory, was bestowed with an extension contract until 2031, he was also given the honor of the legendary No. 10 shirt. The club’s official retail outlets and digital platforms were flooded with orders after the release of the No. 10 shirt.

The daily report of AS mentions that around 70,000 pieces were sent out globally, and it is estimated that in one day, as much as €10 million ($11.6 million) was made from this. The prices for the adult jersey go for €134.99 ($145), while a premium Champions League version is €184.99 ($220).

Yamal thus becomes only the seventh player in Barcelona history to don the deck number of the unicorn, following greats such as Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, and Messi. Besides, he is the youngest among all.
