The Lagos State Government, LASG had on Wednesday, April 27 embarked on the destruction of illegal buildings in the Banana Island area of the state.
This recent development is part of the state government’s efforts to tackle the constant cases of building collapse in the state.
Officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, and the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority carried out the demolition exercise in the state.
According to a statement by the state Ministry of Information, the demolished buildings were in contravention of the Lagos State Urban and Regional Planning Development Law (2019).
