The festive season is here again, with a lot of people trying several criminal acts to make money to show off. A (pump action) gun was recovered by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on Wednesday, the gun was found inside an unregistered vehicle they impounded for driving against traffic.
Bolaji Oreagba, the General manager of LASTMA revealed that they immediately alerted the policemen attached to LASTMA officials in the Lagos-Epe expressway.
According to the GM, the owner on sighting that the police have discovered the gun in his car immediately ran away, he further revealed that the gun has been handed to the police for proper investigations.
The GM said, “In no time that the owner/driver of the vehicle (Honda) noticed that the gun (Pump Action) had been sighted inside his car, he immediately took to his heel and was nowhere to be found anymore.”
“The vehicle with the recovered gun had been handed over to the Divisional Police Officer of Ilasan Police Station for further investigations.”
Oreagba has, however, advised every citizen of Lagos, to be security conscious, and to report any suspicious acts to the nearest police station, festive periods like Christmas and the new year come with a lot of ills, and everyone has to be alert to be able to notice any illegal activity going on so that the situation can be contained immediately by the relevant security agencies
