The management of Lagos State University has managed to pacify the angry protesting students and has reopened the gates which were shut by the students.
Students of the Lagos State University, staged a protest which was led by executives of the Student Union due to the assaults on them by soldiers during the February 25th Presidential Elections, they shut down the Iyana-Oba and Ojo Gates of the institutions, causing a backlog of traffic within the school environs as people could not go in and out of the institution.
According to a parent, He said, “We have been here for some hours. The students locked up both gates, and everywhere is filled with vehicles trying to come in and exit. The security men said the students shut the gates because their executives and some students were beaten by soldiers last week. We are all waiting at the gate, no movement.”
However, the University management has been able to restore normalcy in the school and the gates have been reopened.
