The Nigerian Correction Service on Tuesday dismissed reports going around the news sphere that Mr. Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of late gospel singer, Osinachi, escape for Kuje prison break. The Public Relations Officer at the FCT command Nigeria Correction Service, revealed a week after the jailbreak.
Chukwuedo Humphrey, the Deputy Superintendent went on to plead with Nigerians to ensure that they try to verify stories before they begin spreading them to the general public.
“Every day we recapture prisoners who had escaped the facility during the prison break” the Kuje prison official add. He also confirmed that the Nigeria drug offense agency – NDLEA arrested one of the wanted terror suspects who were among the escapees from the Kuje prison last week for Abuja on Monday. The wanted criminal was caught early Monday morning at Area One Motor Park, in FCT, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA official stated.
Recall that on Friday, the country’s prison officials – Nigeria Correctional Services – declared 68 Boko Haram convicted missing prisoners wanted after the Tuesday jailbreak in Kuje.
Gunmen, who have since been described by the country’s Chief of Defense as terrorists raided the prison located in the political capital of the country last Tuesday, freeing hundreds of inmates.
